Anyone is welcome to join us as a member!
The Friends of the Augusta County Library was founded in 1978 as a charitable arm of the public library in Augusta County, Virginia, providing resources and programs not funded by state or local tax dollars as well as volunteers who enhance library services and facilities.
The ACL Foundation was founded in 2008 to raise capital for larger, long-term initiatives that would help enhance Augusta County Library services and facilities.
In January 2023, the Friends of the ACL and ACL Foundation were merged into a single non-profit entity Friends of the Augusta County Library Foundation (FACLF).
We are a membership-based organization with members supporting the library by paying dues, volunteering in the library, serving on committees, and assisting with fundraising activities. Officers are elected annually from the membership to oversee organizational activities.
